Large scale
On The Waterfront is an adaptation of the hugely successful 1954 film, directed by Elia Kazan and staring Marlon Brando, which tells the tale of a former boxer, working on the docks, who unintentionally becomes involved with a murder. The story shows how this man has the courage to denounce the villains and stand up against them in court.
In this version, stylised movement, such as slow-motion sequences and the use of mime, is used to create a coherent visual language that works as the theatrical equivalent to the seedy glamour of Kazan’s film.
“A dazzling performance in a group show that offers not a carbon copy but an imaginative re-invention of what is an iconic movie” - Michael Billington, The Guardian
“Make no mistake. This show has class and will be a contender for awards.” - The Telegraph
“Their mime work complements Budd Schulberg's rich script and forces the imagination to fill in the gaps and explore new dimensions” - Timeout
