Trojan Women
Throughout 2004
Medium to large scale
A vanquished queen and her daughters await exile to be taken as slaves and sexual playthings to the new masters. The once great slave port Calabar is the setting for the trinity of horror: rape, death and mutilation.
An ensemble of 12 actors and musicians revisits the story of women who survive massacre. British-based black actors alongside Nigerian-based talent tackle this perennial struggle of women in times of war.
